Adams Land Improvement Contractor utilizes several types of land clearing techniques depending on the
desired end use.
V cutting is the most economical and efficient method to clear the land in preparation for pasture. The V cutter cuts all stumps and remaining trees at or below ground level. When care is taken, the V cutting and raking process normally leaves the ground in satisfactory condition for disking and planting. Often, the land we clear using this method is utilized for hay production.
After shearing the stumps and any standing trees, the larger debris is raked into piles and burned.
The burning is closely monitored to assure a controlled burn. The remaining ashes will be spread and incorporated with the soil.
With the clearing completed, the ground is disked to a sufficient depth for planting. The smaller debris will be disked into the soil. Large tires drug behind the disk will also have a leveling effect.
